TJ Phillips
TJ Phillips began his career as a 15-year-old intern in the Information Technology department at CVPS. He was soon hired as a part-time employee with the best office in the company: a desk in the middle of the server room. After graduating Rutland High School he worked full-time at CVPS gaining experience in all areas of IT.
TJ left CVPS to take a position with Middlebury College gaining experience with field support, server administration, network engineering, network security, and their helpdesk. TJ spent much of his time at Middlebury College as Manager of Public Computing, becoming an expert in managing large numbers of computers. He was often sought out as an expert by other institutions on how to effectively and efficiently manage computing en masse.
TJ applied his experience with corporate IT for local small businesses while working for network consulting businesses in the area. During this time he gained expertise in wireless LAN and WAN technologies conducting a number of large scale wireless site surveys and implementations. It was also during this time that TJ realized that the major difference in support that was given to small businesses versus large corporations was that the small business world was always getting reactive service. By implementing a server monitoring and checkup program for Silloway Networks, he created a model where problems are prevented before they can cause downtime. This proactive service has helped to make Silloway Networks the premier small business network support provider in Rutland County and surrounding areas.
